Integrating GroupMe with our platform enables teams to receive timely updates and notifications directly in their GroupMe groups. This integration is facilitated through the use of GroupMe’s webhook functionality, making it ideal for teams who use GroupMe for daily communications.

Before setting up the integration, ensure that you:

  • Have permission to create and manage bots within your GroupMe groups.

Step-by-Step Setup Process

Step 1: Create a Group in GroupMe

  1. Open the GroupMe app or log in through the website.
  2. Navigate to the “Groups” section and click on “Start Group”.
  3. Enter the name for your group and invite members as required.
  4. Once the group is created, note the group name as it will be needed to set up the bot.

Step 2: Create a GroupMe Bot

  1. Log into your GroupMe account.
  2. Navigate to the Bots section within the GroupMe developers’ website.
  3. Click on “Create Bot” and fill in the necessary details such as bot name and the group in which it will operate.

Step 3: Configure the Webhook URL in Our Platform

  1. Log into your platform and navigate to the Integrations menu, then choose Bots from the available options.
  2. Click on the ➕ icon to add a new integration. From the list of available integrations, select GroupMe.
  3. In the configuration panel that appears, paste the GroupMe access token. You can find this token within your GroupMe account at the top right corner.
  4. Select the Group that will receive the Cover Sheet.
  5. Configure the specific Wells and define the Schedule that you want to push Cover Sheet notifications to GroupMe.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • Notifications not appearing in GroupMe: Verify that the webhook URL is correct and that the bot is active within the GroupMe group.
